Truck & Bus
Posts, floor angle, scuff plate, rub rails and roof bows are all roll formed structural components that make up the shell of a box trucks and trailers. With increased fuel efficiency requirements, these components are more frequently manufactured of light gauge, high strength materials to save weight. In addition to the structural components, logistics features such as e-tracks and shelving are also roll formed. School Buses require similar components. Roll forming these components, typically requires programmable in-line notching and post-cutting to length, for flexibility of finished part lengths, hole patterns and quantities, to meet production needs.
Heavy Gauge Frames
Yoder specializes in the roll forming of heavy gauge steel frames for trucks and railcars, up to 1 inch (25 mm) thick material; either feeding pre-notched or tailored laser blank strips, fed to the roll former, or running from coil and cut to length, roll forming machines and tooling are integrated to these heavy gauge frame fabrication systems with coil or strip feeding, to fit the unique requirements and production method of each customers specific needs.
For transportation safety, guardrail beams, cable barrier systems sign posts and earth anchors are ubiquitous along highways. Typically, 12 to 8 gauge (2.5 to 4.0 mm) thick, galvanized steel material, the products are roll formed from coil. The components can have holes notched and cut to length in line. Due to the significant weight of the finished components, automated parts stacking and bundling can be included for high production, coil fed solutions.
